Commune Description And Characteristics
The Komorniki commune is situated right on the south-west border of Poznań. The area of 66.55 km2 is inhabited by over 15,000 people. The favourable position of the Komorniki commune on the investment market is determined by its situation along national road no. 5 (Bydgoszcz-Poznań-Wrocław) in the immediate neighbourhood of the A2 motorway (Berlin?Warsaw) and right next to the future western ring road of Poznań (express road no. S11).

Many renowned companies operate on the commune's territory in areas such as logistics and shipping (Poczta Polska, DHL), logistics and warehouses (Eurocash, Goldbeck), production (Novol - chemicals, Horman Polska - gates, Viessmann - boilers, Huntleigh Healthcare - paramedic equipment), outsourcing (Arvato-Bertelsmann) and developer industry (Prebena, Chwirot). Other investments are currently being launched, especially in the field of logistics and warehouses. Economic activity is favoured by the system of tax incentives and administrative facilitations.
The Komorniki commune's technical infrastructure facilities play a very important role for its inhabitants. This is reflected in the achievements in the field of public utilities which are pioneer solutions on the national level. In 1995 the Komorniki commune was the first to conduct a referendum on self-taxation of the inhabitants for refuse collection.
Since 1990 the whole commune has been covered by waterworks and gas networks; in 1996 the telephone network was completed; in 1999 the construction of a sewerage treatment plant was completed; in 2008 the construction of the whole sewerage system will be completed according to plan.
The Komorniki commune has its own bus base operated by the commune's Zakład Usług Komunalnych (Public Utilities Company) which also provides waterworks services and liquid and recyclable waste collection services. The sewerage system and sewage treatment plant are ran by the commune's Przedsiębiorstwo Usług Kanalizacyjnych "Łęczyca" (Łęczyca Sewerage Services Company).
Investment Offer
According to Komorniki's valid local spatial management plans, the area of over 1300 ha is yet to be developed. The commune is experiencing intensive development of residential construction as part of the developer system or individual single-family housing.
