House no. 55
In the mid-seventeenth century it was owned by Mikołaj Pinocci, a Cracovian merchant and a successful businessman. A relative to the royal secretary Hieronim Pinocci, he entertained King John II Casimir for several months in the winter of 1657/1658, which the monarch had decided to spend in Poznań.
As confirmed during the inspection carried out several years later, the house was furnished to a high standard. The dining room occupied by the king featured a tiled floor, Gdańsk-made wall facings described as "covered with various figures" and a "white and cornflower blue stove decorated with a flowery pattern"
Destroyed by fire during World War II, the house was rebuilt in the Baroque style.
