Families Around the World

Migrant Info Point would like to kindly invite all multicultural families to our workshop meeting - Families Around the World! Various families live in the city of Poznan - also those which consist of parents coming from different countries and who speak to their kids in two (or sometimes three!) different languages. Raising multicultural kids is quite a challenge since they may face certain difficulties on their way.

Families Around the World

If you are a parent and:

you have come to Poland with your kids from another country,

you are a foreigner but your kids were already born in Poland and this is the place where you curently raise them,

you are a Polish parent but the other parent of your kids comes from another country

and you just raise your kids in a multicultural way,

come to our workshop meeting!

Come to our very first Families Around the World meeting which will take place on Saturday, 1st December at 16.30 at Migrant Info Point, Św. Marcin 78 Street, 4th floor, room 423. In order to take part in the meeting write an e-mail to us first - inicjatywa@migrant.poznan.pl. The meeting will be held in English and Polish.

All children are welcome too - there will be a special place to play!

During the first Families Around the World meeting we would like to make a space to get to know each other better, share our experiences and talk about what multicultural families living in Poznan need. There will also be some tea and snacks waiting for you!

The meeting will be conducted by Ilayda Öğdem and Jolanta Graczyk-Öğdem. This is what Ilayda says about herself: "Since my dad comes from Turkey and my mum is Polish I was raised in two cultures - just as many other kids in Poland. Together with my mum, we want to create the series of meetings where we can talk with other parents about multicultural upbringing and the joys as well as the struggles multicultural kids face in their lives".
