Open lecture by prof. Kathleen J. Farkas
The Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan and the City of Poznan invite to open lectures by Professor Kathleen J. Farkas. The lectures will take place in building A, hall A of the Faculty of Theology of AMU at 2/4 Wieżowa Street, on the following days:
on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at 1:30 pm - How to help while taking spirituality into consideration? Diagnosis and interventions;
on Thursday, May 25, 3:30 pm - Services for the elderly and their families: perspectives for innovations.
Kathleen J. Farkas is a Professor at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio (USA). The particular area of her interests is the methodology of social work, the social gerontology, addictions, and mental health. She is the chairwoman of the national expert panel in the field of addictions and elderly people.
Professor Farkas is a laureate of the National Institute on Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse (NIAAA), Faculty Development Award from NIAAA/National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA)/Center on Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) prize for scientists' education. Professor Farkas was in the group of sixty professionalists invited in 2013 to the National Conference to Develop Training Competencies in Trauma-Informed Practice. Her most recent works were published in prestigious magazines concerning social work and social problems: Substance Use and Misuse, Palliative and Supportive Care, Alcoholism Treatment Quarterly, and Journal of Social Work Practice in the Addictions.
