The World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development
The Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures is proud to invite You for the third time to participate in the celebration of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, which was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations in resolution 57/249 (20 December 2002) in accordance with the Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity established by the General Conference of UNESCO at its 31st session (2 November 2001). The resolution refers to the principle of tolerance and respect for cultural diversity and universal promotion and protection of human rights, including the right to development. The event aims at promoting culture, cultural diversity, and cultural heritage.
It is the Faculty of Modern Languages and Literatures that has probably the largest potential of cultural and ethnic diversity among academic staff of our University. This potential is used every day during classes and lectures, however, it should also be made available to and appreciated by a wider public. Therefore, it is the third time, when the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development has been celebrated in order to both promote our University and contribute to shaping the attitude of tolerance and openness to cultural diversity among academic community in Poznań.
