Matthew Kroenig is a professor (Assoc. Prof.) and director of studies in international relations department at the prestigious American University, Georgetown University, Washington DC.

He works as a Senior Fellow of the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security within the most influential American think-tank The Atlantic Council.

As a member of the Council on Foreign Relations he advises Congressmen and members of the American administration. Adviser of foreign policy within the John Hay Initiative (since 2013). In 2010-2011 Prof. Kroenig worked as a Special Advisor to the Secretary of Defence of the United States (2010-2011).

Prof. M. Kroenig was an advisor on international policy in headquarters of presidential candidate Mitt Romney (2012).. He was awarded by the journal Foreign Affairs for the book A Time to Attack: The Looming Iranian Nuclear Threat. He developed the first in the history of the United States a comprehensive strategy for counter-terrorism (2005). In 2005, he was awarded the Secretary of Defence Award for outstanding achievements.
