Getting there
Cathedral Island can easily by reached on foot (a 10-minute walk from the Old Market Square), by public transportation and by car!
ON FOOT:
If you are in the Old Market Square area, head for the City Hall. You will find Wielka Street there perpendicular to the Market Square. Follow it to Garbary Street and on straight as it changes its name to ul. Chwaliszewo. You will soon see the Cathedral on Cathedral Island: to reach it, you only need to cross the river on Bolesław Chrobry Bridge.
The whole walk will take roughly 15 minutes.
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
Cathedral Island can be reached by trams 4, 8 and 17.
Get off at the Katedra tram stop.
If you arrive in Poznań by train, tram 8 will take you from the Central Train Station straight to Cathedral Island.

BY CAR:
Poznań can be reached by:
- Motorway A2 (which extends to the Polish-German border on the west and to Konin on the east),
- by National Roads 92 or 5 (from east or west) and 11 (from north or south).
Once in Poznań, head for the Śródka Roundabout.
To reach Cathedral Island, go down ul. Wyszyńskiego and:
- turn right on ul. Marii Panny (if arriving from the Śródka Roundabout), or
- turn left on ul. Wieżowa (if traveling towards the Śródka Roundabout).
The intersections are marked with signs which will direct you to the Cathedral and help find your way.
