Bee-keeping Skansen and Museum n.a. Prof. Ryszard Kostecki in Swarzędz
The youngest branch of the National Museum of Agriculture and Agricultural-Food Industry in Szreniawa came into being in 1999 on the ground of the bee-keeping skansen existing since 1963. Its beehive collection was initiated by Prof. Ryszard Kostecki (Director of the Department of Useful Insect Disease Investigations - a branch of the Veterinary Institute in Puławy), who accumulated it with a great passion.
The collection of beehives accumulated for tens of years is unique in Europe. It is exhibited in the open air and shows the history of bee-keeping and apiculture developed on the Polish lands.
