Millennium Park

It is situated in the north corner of Komandoria district, between Warszawska Street and Lake Malta. It was set up in a wooded area that used to serve as a military shooting range. Its most characteristic tree, seen all over the park, is the black locust. The park covers an area of 26.3 hectares. It was opened to the public in 1966, but work inside it continued until 1970, when a small open - air theatre with a concert bowl was built.
Inside the park there are some 30 monumental erratic boulders (the largest has a diameter of 5.6 metres), which were dug up when a nearby lake was dredged.
