Underground of The Poznan Cathedral
In the basement of the Cathedral of Poznan you can see fragments of the cathedral pre-Romanesque and Romanesque, as well as relics of the tombs - probably the tombs of the first Polish rulers Mieszko I and King Boleslaw the Brave, as well as relics of the bowl baptismal coming from the tenth century, where he could receive the baptism of the first Lord of the Polish with subjects. In the second crypt there is an exhibition lapidaryjna relics of various boards and stones unearthed during archaeological excavations conducted during the reconstruction of the cathedral after the Second World War 1946-1956. In another crypt lie the mortal remains of the archbishop of Poznan. At the entrance to the underworld boards are hung by prof. Sophia Kurnatowska informing about the rich history of the Cathedral and the Cathedral Island.
