Caravan - a British progressive rock group derived from the Canterbury scene.
The group was founded in 1968 by Pye Hastings playing melodic style on electric guitar and David Sinclair on jazz-sounding organ. The combination of folk and jazz sound was characteristic for the group. Caravan split up in the early eighties. In 1990 the band reactivated in the original lineup and played in it until the death of Richard Coughlan in 2013. In 2018 the group went on tour celebrating the 50th anniversary of the band's presence in the music world.
