The gala summarizing the Emerging Europe Leaders' Meeting & Awards 2019 took place on the 28th of June in London. In a prestigious ranking the City of Poznań took second place in the category "City FDI Promotion strategy of the year". Only Vilnius was ahead of the capital city of Wielkopolska. The Hungarian city of Debrecen took third place.

Poznań was also granted the title "Business Friendly City - Local Authority Support" - the jury appreciated  local authority support in attracting investments and  business development.

The capital city of  Wielkopolska also took high, fourth place in the general business-friendly cities ranking "Business-friendly city of the year".  In the ranking  Poznań  is the first city right behind the European capital cities of Prague, Vilnius and Warsaw.

The background of the success of the City of Poznań are new projects of  2018 and 2019. On the local market we greeted  8 companies: Transcosmos, Payworks, HOMAG, FEV, Conectys, Computacenter, GSK Finance Hub, and very recently NEXT IT, that already provided 450 posts for qualified specialists. Thanks to the dynamic development of  the Poznań-based companies - the ones that have just started their projects  in our city as well as the ones existing in Poznań for many years, e.g. GSK - the number of new posts has been growing.

We are the only Polish TOP3 city in the category  "City FDI Promotion strategy of the year", which means that we have chosen the right way of serving the investors - we dynamically respond to their needs and provide full support at each stage of  the project - says Katja Lożina, the director of the Investor Relations Department. In the final ranking "Business Friendly City" the experts were choosing out of 75 cities of the CEE region. Winning the "Local Authority Support" category is a great honor for the Investor Relations Department and gives further motivation to continue the efforts to develop business activities  in Poznań.

The upcoming months will be devoted to activities for the sake of the investors. Thanks to the European Union means the Investor Relations Department will start to cooperate with the local gamedev studios. Besides, an IT specialist conference, organized in cooperation with a number of local companies, will be held already in September this year.
