How Irish fans plan to travel to Poznan this summer
2012-03-28
Having just returned from a visit to Ireland, we report on how the fans from Ireland are preparing for their visit to Poznan this summer.
Having interviewed a number of people travelling to Poznan this summer and asking them about the variety of travel options they have to choose from, most of them who were lucky enough to have tickets for the matches managed to book their flights early and have opted to travel direct from Dublin's Terminal 1 direct to Poznan's newly developed international airport via RyanAir. Others have opted to fly via London and then direct to Lawica International Airport. What was very interesting though was a significant number of people who are travelling to Berlin and then via public and private transport are travelling direct to Poznan on the newly developed Berlin - Poznan motorway, all in all a journey time that will take them in comfort in air conditioned luxury vehicles direct to the door of their hotel with a journey time of slightly over two hours. The fourth group of people I spoke with were a number of Irish businessmen who regularly fly in and out of Poznan on business with links to several prominent Irish companies based in the Greater Poland area - who are going to avail of the special RyanAir 1 day packages which will take them into Poznan specifically for the Group I matches and then return them home again to Ireland the following day for another day in the office.
The great thing is the variety of travel options still available to the Irish public and there are still flights available via all of the regular online low cost flight websites.
