Record Participation and International Competition
The tournament is expected to attract athletes from across the country and provide spectators with an opportunity to watch competitive beach volleyball in one of Poznań's most popular recreational areas. The event will also feature international participants from countries including Lebanon, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and Ukraine, adding an international dimension to one of the country's most prestigious beach volleyball tournaments.
The City of Poznań is the tournament's official partner. The event is also co-financed by the Regional Government of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship. Entrance to the stands is free. "Once again, Poznań will host the country's top beach volleyball athletes. The event always attracts large crowds, encouraged not only by the high sporting level but also by the unique location at Lake Rusałka. The best players in Poland will compete for places in the Polish Championship finals. With these athletes and future generations in mind, we are currently building one of the most modern beach sports facilities in Poland in the Rataje district. The venue will provide excellent conditions not only for beach volleyball but also for beach handball, beach soccer, and beach tennis. The new courts will be covered, allowing year-round training and competition," said Marcin Gołek, Deputy Mayor of Poznań.
The opening day of the tournament will be dedicated to qualification matches. A record 108 teams have registered for the competition, including 36 women's teams and 72 men's teams. Due to the unprecedented level of interest, qualification matches for Saturday's main draw will be played simultaneously on six courts.
The seven highest-ranked teams in the Polish Volleyball Federation rankings have already secured direct entry into Saturday's main tournament.
Fans will have plenty of opportunities to support local athletes, with several players from Poznań and the Wielkopolska region expected to compete in Friday's qualifiers. Strong home support could play an important role in helping them advance to the main tournament.
Sport, Excitement and a Family-Friendly Atmosphere
The main tournament matches will take place on Saturday, while the women's and men's finals are scheduled for Sunday, 14 June. Everything points to a weekend filled with world-class beach volleyball, sporting excitement, and a welcoming atmosphere for spectators of all ages.
Beach volleyball enthusiasts are encouraged to visit Lake Rusałka and experience the action live from the stands. The full event schedule and organizational information are available at www.plazawolnosci.pl.
