On Friday, 12 June, every resident of Poznań who comes to one of the waste collection points (Gratowiska) to drop off waste will receive a geranium seedling.
World Environment Day is one of the most important international observances, aimed at drawing attention to the natural environment around us, its biodiversity, and its invaluable importance for human well-being. It was established by the United Nations in 1972 and is celebrated on 5 June each year. As this year it falls during a long weekend, many residents of Poznań are likely to have planned leisure trips rather than visits to the waste collection points. For this reason, we have moved our World Environment Day celebration to 12 June.
Every resident of Poznań who brings waste to one of the three PSZOKs will receive a geranium. Flowers will be given away while supplies last. The rule is: one person - one flower. The type and amount of waste do not matter. However, only waste accepted at Municipal Selective Waste Collection Points (PSZOKs) may be brought.
