This year's programme consists of several sections showing the full spectrum of British cinema, from timeless classics to contemporary independent films.
First Things First presents pre-premiere screenings of films that often never reach regular distribution in Poland.
The Classics section will be devoted to iconic titles of British cinema. Screenings will take place from digitally restored copies as well as traditional 16 mm and 35 mm film prints. In the High Season section audiences will see the most notable films of the 2024/2025 season. Mind the Gap focuses on social realism, a movement characteristic of British cinema, tackling themes of everyday life, politics, and class divisions.
Period and historical films will be featured in the Five o'clock section. The category name refers to the traditional British teatime. Screenings in this series will start at 5:00 p.m.
The Bloody Hell! Section will be dedicated to low-budget, often absurd B-movies that have become cult classics.
In addition to film screenings, there will be meetings with filmmakers, discussion panels, and other cultural events. Some screenings will take place in unusual locations, giving the festival a unique atmosphere.
The organisers emphasise that the British Film Festival is not only a celebration of cinema but also a space for discussions about contemporary culture and society.
The second edition of the festival will take place from 12 to 16 November at various locations across Poznań.
