Changes to Park & Ride

The price of a parking ticket at Park & Ride currently amounts to PLN 12. Minor organisational changes have also been introduced to the Park & Ride regulations since the first of January 2026.

At the centre there is an entry barrier with a parking payment machine. The surface is made of paving stones, with clearly marked traffic lanes and parking spaces. On the right-hand side, a mandatory one-way traffic sign is visible. The car park is empty, with no vehicles parked. - grafika artykułu

A Park & Ride parking ticket entitles the holder to travel on ZTM (Poznań Public Transport Authority) tram and bus lines for up to 22 hours. Leaving a car at a Park & Ride using a period ticket that includes Zone A on a PEKA card remains free of charge.

Since June 2019, the price for leaving a car at Park & Ride had not changed and amounted to PLN 10. The new price of PLN 12 has been in effect since 1 January 2026. The fee is correlated with public transport fares and parking zone charges which is why it was adjusted.

It is worth remembering that such a ticket allows travel on ZTM lines for up to 22 hours. Considering that a 24-hour ticket for Poznań Zone A costs PLN 18, the cost of parking after the change will still be one of the most attractive options for using public transport.

As part of the changes, the list of period tickets that will entitle holders to free parking from 1 January 2026 has also been updated. The regulations have removed those tickets that are no longer available in the fare schedule.

Additionally, based on experience in operating the parking facilities, an additional fee for losing the entry ticket has been introduced, and the rules for using the facilities have been updated, including the removal of information about the unused option to reserve a parking space and the provisions regarding the exit ticket. As part of the update, § 5 was also added, containing provisions on liability for damages. This change is driven by practical experience in managing the facilities. This change is based on practical experience in managing the facilities.

Park & Ride (P&R) facilities are part of Poznań transport policy, which aims to improve mobility and reduce the number of cars entering the city centre. Reducing congestion and air pollution is also an important goal. The P&R concept is designed to encourage the use of multiple modes of transport and to increase the use of trams and buses. It offers a practical and concrete solution for people commuting to the capital of Greater Poland from other towns or from the city's peripheral areas.

The fare system of the Poznań Public Transport Authority (ZTM) encourages combining car travel with public transport - with a period ticket that includes Zone A on a PEKA card, Park & Ride facilities can be used free of charge. People who do not hold a so-called network ticket are required to purchase a ticket that allows travel on ZTM lines during the operating hours of the parking facilities, i.e., from 4:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. the following day.

The new regulation regarding Park & Ride can be found on the city's BIP website - Public Information Bulletin, and the current rules are published as part of the resolution on the BIP site.
