EUR 1 700 000 per year. SOFTSWISS, with an office in Poznań, has revealed how much it spends on charity.
Great businesses, which consider it their mission and duty to help those in need, also do not shy away from helping to deal with the consequences of tragic events around the world. Among them, the international product and technology company SOFTSWISS, which has two software centres in Poland - in Poznań and Warsaw - also expresses its active position in charitable projects.
The world's leading software producer has revealed the amount of donations the company makes to victims of various natural disasters around the world. Last year only, SOFTSWISS donated a total of EUR 1,700,000 to these causes. In the Polish office, they note that they will continue to give aid to those who need it.
- Charity has an important role in the life of SOFTSWISS. The founders of the company do not really like to expand on this topic, as they believe that the desire to help other people is a natural reaction of every human being. But when we learn about this or that help the company has given to those in need at the most difficult time for them, we are filled with a feeling of pride and a strong sense of connection to the company and its values - says SOFTSWISS HR director Julia Oncheva.
One of the company's latest charitable initiatives is related to the effects of the powerful March earthquakes in Turkey, which cost the lives of more than 50,000 people. At the time, around one million people in the country were left without homes, personal belongings and necessities.
- When we were in the disaster area, we saw towns and villages in ruins. It was terrifying. We contacted the affected people to find out from them what they needed most, and how we could help them - noted company representative Nurullah Yildiz after visiting the areas affected by the earthquake.
To contribute to Turkey's rebuilding process, SOFTSWISS has set aside USD 25,000 to purchase housing containers for those made homeless by the devastating earthquake. Financial assistance for the purchase of food items and drinking water was also given to those families with disabled children and those who lost loved ones in the disaster.
- What happened in Turkey is terrible. People should not have to suffer because of it. However, life shows that no one in this world is safe. That is why we will always help those who need it - commented SOFTSWISS company founder Ivan Montik.
