The City begins renovating the section of Za Bramką Street between Plac Kolegiacki and Wszystkich Świętych (All Saints) Street. Workers will remove the worn-out road surface and sidewalks. They will rebuild them completely from scratch. The traditional cobblestone look will be preserved. However, the stones will be cut flat on top. This will make the surface smoother and more comfortable for walking, cycling and driving. At the same time, the sidewalks will be upgraded with reclaimed stone slabs and cobbles. This will give the area a cleaner and more historic appearance.
Traffic Changes During Street Renovation
During the works, the repaired section will be closed to cars. Temporary traffic changes will be introduced. These will include two-way traffic near Plac Kolegiacki. Pedestrian routes will change depending on the stage of construction. Detours will guide drivers through nearby streets such as Garbary and Plac Bernardyński. Access to local parking will be maintained. Emergency and city services will also have access throughout the project.
Work Until Mid-June for a Better City Centre
The construction is expected to last until mid-June. It continues the upgrades carried out last summer on another section of the same street. This is part of a broader effort to improve the historic centre of Poznań. The aim is to make it more pedestrian-friendly while preserving its character and charm. Short-term disruptions are unavoidable. However, the result will be a smoother, more attractive and more accessible street for residents and visitors.
