Reconstruction of Janickiego Street has started

Work has begun on Janickiego Street in the Jeżyce district, between Dąbrowskiego Street and Barańczaka Street. The investment, carried out by an external developer, includes upgrading the road, pavements and street lighting.

Over a section of about 300 meters, the road surface, property driveways, sidewalks, and street lighting will be rebuilt. The new sidewalks will be made of 50 × 50 cm concrete slabs. Eleven new streetlights will be installed along the street. The pedestrian crossing near Barańczaka Street will receive additional lighting.

At the crosswalk areas, tactile ground markings will be added to help blind and visually impaired people move more safely. For improved safety, a speed bump and a raised intersection at the junction of Janickiego and Barańczaka streets will be built. The underground utilities and road drainage system will also be rebuilt.

The works are divided into two stages and will last until September 30.

Traffic Changes

The western side of Janickiego Street is closed to traffic. Vehicles can only use the eastern side of the road, operating one-way from Dąbrowskiego Street to Nad Seganką Street. Entry and exit from Fiszera Street remain possible but the parking area next to the sports club is closed.

In the second stage, the eastern side of the street will be closed from Dąbrowskiego Street to Nad Seganką Street. One-way traffic will continue the western side, and access to private properties will be maintained where technically possible.

A detour for the closed direction will be routed via Świętego Wawrzyńca Street, Żeromskiego Street and Dąbrowskiego Street.
