Center for Senior Citizens Initiatives

The Centre for Senior Citizens Initiatives is a municipal organizational unit established by the resolution of Poznan City Council on the initiative of the Senior Citizens City Council. The Centre is one of the first units of this type in Poland. It aims at people who are 60+ as they can be a source of inspiration, knowledge and experience for others.

The mission of The Centre is to fight stereotypes connected with the old age. It's crucial to change the harmful opinion about this period of life and to show its advantages.

To encourage elderly people to help one another, Poznan 60+ Volunteering was created. Additionally, The 60+ Information Point was established which provides information on interesting events organized in Poznan and ways of spending free time. The Centre also organizes the "Senioralni. Poznan" event and co-organizes "VIVA Seniorzy!" fair. The Centre cooperates with many various entities which work for senior citizens in the local environment. It also exchanges good practices with partners from all over Europe in projects supported by the European Union.
