The visit to Bamberg was part of regular cooperation between the Poznan Bamber Association and the gardeners from Bamberg, represented by Junggärtnergruppe Bamberg e. V.. During the several days of their stay, Bamber women from the City of Poznan introduced tourists and citizens to the tradition and history of Poznan Bambers.

Bamberg and Poznan are also linked by E.T.A.Hoffmann - a writer, composer, illustrator and caricaturist, one of the precursors of horror fantasy. Both cities were his home for part of his life. He was the one to whom Bamberg, in cooperation with Poznan, dedicated the exhibition "The Incredible World of the Imagination of E.T.A. Hoffmann" in the Library of the University of Bamberg. The exhibition featured illustrations by Aleksandra Kucharska-Cybuch, a graduate of Faculty of Scenography of Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. The exhibition was visited by over a dozen thousand people.

On August 7, Poznan will celebrate the 27th Poznan Bamber Holiday. On this occasion, on Sunday the City of Poznan will host a series of events, including a traditional parade.

Bamberg is located in Bavaria. The city is surrounded by a network of canals and has been preserved almost unchanged since the Middle Ages. It is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It was from Bamberg that the first settlers arrived in Poznan in 1719. This contributed to the reconstruction and modernisation of Greater Poland's villages, which had been depopulated as a result of war and plague.
