Poznan - vice-leader of coworking

The capital of the Greater Poland holds second place in Poland - after Warsaw - when it comes to the number of operating coworking offices. There are already 20 of the here.

What is coworking? This term means, simply speaking, sharing of the office space, in particular by freelancers. What, apart for an office, can it give us? Networking that is the possibility to establish relationships and contacts somewhat "by the way" of work in the coworking office. In addition the office itself often offers the possibility to use legal services, accounting or assistance in the IT areas.

To facilitate orientation in the industry for the interested persons, a map was created www.coworkingpoland.pl. As it was stated by the data published by the portal, currently the largest number of coworking offices is in Warsaw - there is 74 operating there. Poznan is on the second place with 20 offices, the third place was taken by Cracow where there are 12 coworking offices.

It is worth adding that Poznan is preparing for activation of the Municipal Coworking Space. The City of Poznan in cooperation with the urban company Wielkopolskie Centrum Wspierania Inwestycji in developed office building at ul. Za Bramką implements the project under the name "Strefa Pracy Wspólnej + 1" (Shared Work Zone +1).

"Activities of the zone are supposed to create in Poznan a place for meeting, work and knowledge and experience exchange between people who have just started to think about their own company, and those who already are entrepreneurs or representatives of freelance professions" - explains Maciej Dohnal from Business Activity and Agriculture Department of the Poznan City Hall - "the main objective of the Organizers is the support innovative projects based on new technologies."

The usable area of the zone will include shared workplaces, private offices and conference halls for needs of the users and lessees of the zone and for handling of larger events dedicated to entrepreneurs and inhabitants. The place may be used by the organizers and beneficiaries of social initiatives implemented in the city.

Within the zone there will be located the so-called "Hot desk" namely free of charge, publicly available place of shared work for approx. 30 people (approx. 180 m2), "Biurkownia" that is place to work in coworking space formula (10 desks for rent), 4 closed office rooms for rent and 2 conference halls. It will occupy the area of approx. 500 m2 in total.
