Weekend in Poznan

It promises to be a very concert-packed weekend. Listeners of almost all musical genres will find something for themselves - from pop, through blues, jazz, hip hop, heavy sounds, to classical music. You will be able to listen to stars from the 1980s, such as Halina Frąckowiak, artists currently reigning supreme on the charts and with millions of views on YouTube - such as Ralph Kaminski, but also recognised names on the international scene - such as Tom Skinner.

bale, Zaumne - concert

There is a magical element in Bela's music that makes it function beyond time and space. Bela hails from South Korea and on his latest album he presents a new version of nongaku, or traditional Korean music. Zaumne is an explorer of human moods, atmospheres and the culture of the internet and its sonic content. He uses meticulously processed samples evoking the ASMR phenomenon and original field recordings in his compositions.

Piotr Kurka. Opera Dignitas - exhibition

The exhibition Opera Dignitas is an intermedia installation consisting of three elements: a collection of sticks, a video projection in a loop and a dozen or so small, hand-coloured engravings depicting interiors with a clear premodern provenance. The project's title contains the key words: opera in the etymological sense is a work, a piece, an effort; in the second, real sense, a stage work that is a synthesis of the arts.

Culinary pop-up with Michał Kmieciak

Michał Kmieciak is a Poznań-based composer who has been developing his culinary passion for practically two decades. Now he is back with his Dragon, a pop-up concept rooted with flavours in the cuisine of the Middle Kingdom, in its sharpest and most interesting part, i.e. Sichuan. A special Dragon Menu has been prepared.

Urszula Blachnierek "Mutual Taming' - exhibition

In the exhibition 'Mutual Taming', the artist engages in a dialogue with abandoned, unwanted forms. They become something else, adapting what has been given to them, while dictating the terms of their form. Blachnierek creates sculptures using natural materials, often combining them on the basis of contrasts. The exhibition will run until 21 February.

The exhibition 'Transferring Views' is monographic and polyphonic at the same time. It works in multiple directions and planes at once. Tom Skinner - concert

Tom Skinner is a British drummer, composer and producer. For the past 20 years, he has been an important figure in the burgeoning underground music scene in London. A member of the jazz band Sons of Kemet and rock band The Smile (along with Thom York and Jonny Greenwood). In 2022, he released his first album under his own name, Voices of Bishara. It is a hypnotic and unique mini-album of deeply emotional music.

Pull The Wire and Antyrefleks - concert

The band Pull The Wire is putting their cowboy hat on the rack and setting sail on a pirate voyage! Together with them, Antyrefleks will perform on stage. Both groups come from Żyrardów. The former is closest to punk rock, while the latter uses rock riffs, climatic elation and bittersweet observations of reality to create a place to have fun together.

Halina Frąckowiak - concert

Halina Frąckowiak has reigned supreme on the Polish stage for 60 years. Her music unites generations, and hits such as: "Papierowy księżyc" or "Serca gwiazd" are sung by old and young alike. The year 2023 is an anniversary year for the singer. Together with Tomasz Filipczak's band, she has prepared a special concert, where we will hear the hits: "Mały Elf", "Dancing Queen", "Tin Pan Ally", "Bądź gotowy", "Papierowy księżyc" and others.

Jugo/Vrazas/Witczynski

An improvisational project that grew out of a long-standing friendship between three Wroclaw-based musicians. In it, their individual instrumental skills are the support for an open and eclectic vision of music. Their work evolves from concert to concert, meandering among a wide range of genres and currents - dirty rock sounds give way to sonoristic experiments, and the chaos of improvisation transforms into energetic songs.

Blues for Friday

The Fingerstyle Bob Trio is made up of guitarist and vocalist Robert Kordylewski, playing the fingerpicking technique, Janusz Siemienias on slide guitar and Leszek Paech on harmonica. Their concert consists of original songs and blues standards in their own arrangements maintained in the climate of folk blues, enriched with jazz harmonies with swing rhythm, combined with the characteristic pulse of Chicago blues.

Antoni Wit's birthday

Maestro's Birthday is the title of a special concert celebrating the birthday of the eminent artist and composer Maestro Antoni Wit, who will conduct the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra during Friday evening.  The celebratory event will feature Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 3 in D major D.200 and the symphonic poem Die Seejungfrau (The Little Mermaid) by Alexander von Zemlinsky.

Rastafajrant in Kultowa

Sienkiewicz's love triangles

The opening of an exhibition that invites you on a journey back in time to the 19th century, to the world created by Henryk Sienkiewicz in his novel 'Rodzina Połanieckich'. During the event, a lecture entitled 'How can you even find happiness in marriage? On the rules of romance in the 19th century' will be given by Dr Rozalia Wojkiewicz from the Institute of Polish Philology at the Adam Mickiewicz University. You will also be able to meet members of the "Krynolina" Historical Reconstruction and Costuming Society dressed in stylish costumes, and listen to a performance by cellist Dr Agnieszka Brojek. Marcin Masecki Trio

Marcin Masecki is a pianist, composer, arranger, conductor, curator and pedagogue. He regularly performs jazz and classical repertoire. Natsuko Kono - "Life underwater"

This is a unique opportunity to see the performance 'Life Under Water' by Natsuko Kono, a butō artist living in Germany. Butō is the collective name for different types of dance activities and techniques in Japan. Natsuko Kono developed her passion while studying performing arts in London. Today she works as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer, presenting her productions at renowned festivals. She founded the Butō Academy in Serbia and has conducted workshops all over the world.

Dream Machine at the Zamek

During this unique event, a unique experiment awaits participants. The all-night music session will include not only concerts, but also multi-channel video projections, space arrangements, performative elements, as well as tactile and olfactory stimuli. A cosmic kaleidoscope

A sky adventure awaits! Young viewers of the Wariate Theatre's production will embark on a cosmic journey and a rocket at the speed of light will take them to the interplanetary skies. About art in Polish Sign Language

A curatorial tour of the exhibition 'Powiadacze. Dialogue between Contemporary and Medieval Art' is an opportunity to see how works by contemporary artists resonate with medieval monuments. The temporally distant works in the exhibition space start a dialogue that makes the distance between them blur. The meeting will be moderated by Katarzyna Sinoracka, curator of the exhibition, and Polish sign language interpretation will be provided by Karolina Bocian, a member of the Association of Polish Sign Language Interpreters.

The performance is a movement-based answer to the question of what connects humans and animals. How do we build closeness, create home, search? Through movement, actions with objects, light and sound, the actors want to draw young children and the adults close to them into an interaction based on what connects humans to the animal world - instinct.
