Weekend in Poznan

A walk through the swamps, the mysteries of the Dutch masters of painting, "Mr Kleks' Academy" from 40 years ago, as well as concerts by Richard Bona and Varius Manx - the first weekend in February promises to be exceptionally interesting in Poznań. As usual, there will also be plenty of interesting performances and carnival events.

Budma - construction and architecture

The Budma 2024 International Fair of Construction and Architecture is underway at MTP. This is the 32nd edition of the event, which this time takes place under the motto 'The Green Future of Construction'. Weekend with women's volleyball

Exceptionally two days in a row you will be able to watch the matches of the women's volleyball team Enea Energetyk Poznań. First, on Friday, they will face the Trans Ann Płomień Sosnowiec team, while a day later they will face UJ CM Solna Wieliczka. Discovering the everyday - Dutch Baroque painting

The new political and religious situation in the 17th century in the Netherlands introduced a spectacular breakthrough in the subjects taken up by painting. "After the storm" (Po burzy)

Łapaczy Snów Theatre has been in operation for many years through cooperation with the Ósmego Dnia Theatre. "Shame" - or "Parents in laws" in a theatrical version

The play "Shame" is a brilliant comedy set against the backdrop of wedding confusion.

The clash of two completely different families is the setting for increasingly exciting events. Confused and shocked, the parents of the bride and groom try to bring the situation under control, but their efforts turn into further questions: what actually happened? who is to blame? what next for the wedding celebration? should the guests be welcomed?

Łukasz Panfil - meeting with the author

The author's evening will be devoted to Łukasz Panfil's book "Człowiek to jest!". The author is a commentator on many running events, including the Poznań Marathon and Half Marathon and the CityTrail cycle. In addition, he has written three books and hundreds of articles on athletics and running. The meeting will be hosted by Piotr Bętkowski, Poland's representative in mountain running.

"Woyzeck"

A mysterious murder with particular cruelty occurs in a small town. The apparent calm disappears when Maria, the mother of a two-year-old child, is found dead. The main suspicions fall on Woyzeck, the slain woman's partner. The case, however, turns out not to be obvious... Georg Büchner's drama was never finished and the scenes were not put in the target order. The play can also be seen on Saturday and Sunday.

A day with history - the Crypt of the Distinguished for Wielkopolska

The Association of Underground Passionists (Stowarzyszenie Pasjonaci Podziemi) together with the parish priest of St. Adalbert invite you to a day with history - an opportunity to see the Crypt of the Distinguished for Wielkopolska under the church. Established as early as the 16th century, it was later rebuilt several times. Among others, Józef Wybicki, the creator of the national anthem, was laid to rest there; the heart of Jan Henryk Dąbrowski is also located there. It is also the resting place of the first parish priests. After a short introduction, everyone will be able to get to know this unique place individually.

Song of the Hero - the anniversary of Grażyna Bacewicz's birth

The concert will be dedicated to Grażyna Bacewicz, whose 115th birthday falls this year. The Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Charles Olivieri-Munroe, with Tomasz Sośniak, winner of national and international piano and chamber music competitions, at the piano. Among the works to be heard will be the symphonic poem 'Sigismund Augustus and Barbara Radziwiłłówna' by Henryk Opieński and the Piano Concerto by Grażyna Bacewicz, who was not only a recognised composer but also a violin virtuoso.

Concert in the dark - for adults only

The concert in the dark will not only provide a unique sound experience, but also unforgettable emotions. Hits such as 'Rosemary's Baby', 'Autumn Leaves', 'My Funny Valentine' and 'Szepty i łzy' will be heard. Darkness will bring the sounds of trumpet and double bass into focus. Michał Kutek - Stand-up

Michal Kutek is a stand-up superstar, a lawyer by training, who presents intelligent humour and well-constructed jokes. Richard Bona - meeting

The walls of Poznań's music academy will be visited by the world-famous multi-instrumentalist Richard Bona. He will answer questions from guests at the university's presidential hall.

Walk to mark World Wetlands Day

A nature walk will take place on Saturday to mark World Swamps Day. Those wishing to do so will visit the area and the immediate surroundings of the Bogdanka II ecological site. The walk's guide, Artur Golis (botanist, employee of the Wielkopolska Landscape Parks Service), will also talk about the functions that wetlands perform for the city and its inhabitants. The expected length of the walk is about 6 km (the distance may change depending on the number of participants and the pace of the walk). The organisers of the action recommend to take care of comfortable, warm clothing - waterproof, off-road shoes, waterproof jacket.

A real Pole is dead

A performance directed by Eva Rufo and Justyna Tomczak-Boczko is set during the wake of True Pole. It involves three main characters, representing different worlds: a housewife, an immigrant and an intelligent person. They mourn the deceased, reminisce about his life and argue about what it means to be a true Pole. Live music will be performed by Malwina Paszek and Szymon Konrad.
