The studio was set up on the initiative of Marian Walczak, an admirer of the writer, who bequeathed his collection to the Mayor of Poznaƒ in 1979. This contains 19th and 20th century editions of Kraszewski's works (almost 3,000 volumes) and also original photographs from the author's life. There are also sculptures, medals, graphics and a substantial collection of press cuttings.
