Obstructive Sleep Apnea - an Underestimated Health Problem - open lecture
Prof. Robert Skomro, MD, PhD is a pulmonologist and sleep disorder specialist, Professor and Head of the Respirology, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine Department at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada and Vice-President of the Canadian Sleep Society.
Prof. Skomro obtained his title of the Doctor of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada and then PhD at Wroclaw Medical University. After obtaining his medical degree, he completed a residency in internal medicine and pulmonology in Canada and fellowship in sleep medicine research under the direction of Prof. Meir Kryger and M. Younes at the University of Manitoba.
He has Canadian (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada) and American (ABIM, ABSM) qualifications in internal medicine, pulmonology and sleep disorders. He is an author of more than 50 scientific publications on pulmonology and sleep medicine and sits on the Supervisory Board of the Canadian Sleep and Circadian Network.
