The talk "On contemporary challenges, expectations and the shifting world order" takes place on 8 October 2018 at 3:30 p.m. in the atrium of the university (ul. Janiny Lewandowskiej 20). This week four Poznań universitites - Adam Mickiewicz University, University of Medicine, University of Life Sciences and University School of Physical Education - have jointly inaugurated the new academic year. Thus they opened the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Poznań University. The ceremony was held in the hall of Adam Mickiewicz University (ul. Wieniawskiego). It was attended by the members of the academic community as well as the state and local authorities.

Concert "Japanese-Polish impressions. Takasaki & Poznań"

The City Development and Foreign Relations Department of the Poznań City Hall, Music Theatre, Chamber Choir of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the Japan-Poland Exchange Centre along with partners would like to invite you to attend the Japanese-Polish flagship event of the concert fall in Poznań - the joint performance of the choirs from Poznań and the Japanese city of Takasaki! This concert is a music gift from both choirs to the residents of Poznań and the Wielkopolska Region on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of restoration of independence by Poland and the next year's celebration of 100th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Japan and Poland. The concert is also a result of informal contact established between Takasaki and Poznań in 2016.

A Polish branch of the Bilingualism Matters Centre was opened at the Faculty of English at the Adam Mickiewicz University. The mission of this internationally recognised centre, based in Edinburg, is to disseminate results of research into bi- and multilingualism and information related to these issues among societies. For many years, employees of the Faculty of English have been conducting interdisciplinary research into bi- and multilingualism and disseminating its results at local and international fora.

"Hanka" dorm wins top prize in a nationwide competition

The renovation project and remodeling of the AMU Hanka student dormitory won the highest recognition and a main prize at the National Modernization of the Year 2017 Competition. The results were announced on August 24, 2018 at the Royal Castle in Warsaw. Hanka won the main prize in the category of hotel and conference facilities.
