Bronze medal of the Summer Universiade in Taipei won by the Polish fencing team

The Polish fencing team composed of the AMU students: Hanna Łyczbińska, Julia Walczyk and Julia Chrzanowska, trained by the employee of the Department of Physical Education and Sport, Paweł Kantorski, defeated the Hungarian team 45:31 in their competition for the third place on the podium. The fight for gold was within reach. The fight between the Poles and the Russians in the semi-final was very close, but finally the Poles lost by one point, 39:40.

In turn, the silver medal in taekwondo was won by Aleksandra Kowalczuk, who is the second-year student of Physical Education at the University of Physical Education. The medal won by the Poznań competitor is the first medal for the Polish taekwondo representative in the history of the Universiades.

The Summer Universiade in Taipei will last until 30 August.
