"Poznań without hatred" campaign

No more aggressive and racist graffiti on walls in public space. The "Poznań without hatred" campaigns being launched. Residents of Poznań will remove hate speech from the walls of the city buildings by their own hands.

The action will start on Saturday, May 26, at 10 o'clock at the PST Kurpińskiego tram-stop. There will be volunteers, representatives of the city offices and municipal companies involved in the initiative, as well as all those who oppose hate speech in public space in Poznań.

- Poznań is an open and tolerant city, there is no place for discrimination in any form, including racist slogans and subtitles. - emphasizes Jacek Jaśkowiak, The President of the City of Poznań. - Everyone has the right to respect, regardless of their origin, religion, sexual orientation or worldview. History has clearly shown us what can happen when this respect is lacking. That is why the action "Poznań without hatred" is so important and symbolic. I hope that many residents of the city will join it - he adds. 
- Although companies and municipal institutions devote significant resources to remove such acts of vandalism, unfortunately, hateful slogans and symbols still appear in the city space - explains Marta Mazurek, Plenipotentiary for Counteracting Exclusion by the President of the City of Poznań, the coordinator of this event. - These inscriptions and symbols not only disfigure our city but also hurt people who represent the groups they are directed to, as well as residents of Poznań.

"Poznań without hatred" is a part of the celebration of the World Day of Cultural Diversity, hence volunteers from Poznań schools were invited to participate. The action is also connected with the city's policy on anti-discrimination education and counteracting exclusion.
The "Poznań without hatred" event is also correlated with Poznań Art Week.

The action to re-paint hate speech is scheduled for May 26 in the following places:
PST Kurpińskiego 10:00-12:00
PST Szymanowskiego 12:30-13:30
PST Solidarności 13:45-14:30
Ul. Marii Magdaleny 5 12:00-13:00
Ul. Rycerska 35 13:00-15:00
