Professor Czesław Znamierowski was an eminent philosopher, attorney, sociologist and translator. He published almost two hundred works of his own and editorial. He was the first to introduce distinction between a community and a social group, and determined a "nation" as a "society". In 1965, the Senate of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań presented him with an honorary doctorate.
