Among Poznań's HEIs, Adam Mickiewicz University fared best by securing its highest spot for 'Education' (spots 251-300 out of approx. 800 evaluated HEIs, one category higher than in last year's ranking), being also the best performing Polish university. UAM ranked slightly lower for 'Arts & Humanities' (301-400 out of approx. 800 evaluated HEIs) and 'Law' (301-400 out of approx. 450 HEIs). For the 'Arts & Humanities' subject area, the SWPS University from Warsaw, which has a branch in Poznań, was ranked among the 601-800 spots. The position of UAM for "Social Sciences' (501-600 out of 1200 HEIs ranked) is also worth mentioning. This means the highest-ranked Polish university, together with Jagiellonian University and Warsaw University. The SWPS University ranked 601-800 within this area. UAM also took lower spots in the categories of "Psychology' (601+), "Life Sciences' (601-800), "Computer Science' (801-1000), and "Physical Sciences' (1001-1250).
Regarding other Poznań universities, Poznan University of Technology - like UAM - ranked 1001-1250 for "Physical Sciences', and 801-1000 in "Computer Science'. This university also ranked 801-1000 in the "Business and Economics' category. Poznan University of Medical Sciences ranked 801-1000 for "Medical and Health', and Poznań University of Life Sciences ranked 801-1000 for "Life Sciences'. The "Engineering' subject area saw two Poznań universities ranked: Poznan University of Technology (1001-1250) and Poznań University of Life Sciences (1251+).
The ranking methodology was based on five evaluated criteria: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry and International Outlook.
