2nd "Chop (in) POZnań" Concert - Marek Bracha - piano

Only two months after the first "Chop (in) in POZnań" concert, we are pleased once again to invite all lovers of Chopin's music to the White Room at the Poznań City Hall, 17 Kolegiacki Square, to attend the second concert of this new series.
This time we invite you to listen to the masterpieces of Chopin, interpreted by Mr Marek Bracha. Mr Marek Bracha - educated in Warsaw (Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw ) and London (Masters of Music studies at the Royal College of Music in London) - is considered to be one of the most interesting Polish pianists of the young generation. His play is characterized by noble and beautiful tones as well as moderate and tasteful expression. His fascination with pianos from Chopin's times lead him to postgraduate studies in the Royal College of Music in London.
However, the pianist also enjoys playing modern - solo, cameral and orchestral - pieces, and his achievements include numerous world premieres of the work of remarkable Polish composers. Marek Bracha, apart from his artistic activity, gives lectures and workshops on playing historic instruments. Through his concerts all around the world, he consistently promotes Polish music (e.g. China, Japan, Italy, Grece, Germany, Algeria, Ethiopia, Chile) and cooperates on a regular basis with such conductors as Alun Francis, José Maria Florêncio and Jacek Kaspszyk. As a chamber musician, he performs with Tobias Koch, Marcin Masecki and Maciej Frąckiewicz a well as such bands as Atom String Quartet, Royal String Quartet and Meccore String Quartet. In July 2017, the pianist played with Scharoun Ensemble der Berliner Philharmoniker.
In 2010, Marek Bracha won the 2nd Prize (the 1st prize was not awarded) in the International Chopin Piano Competition in Mariańskie Łaźnie in the CzechRepublic. In the same year, he joined the group of 4 pianists who represented Poland in the 2nd stage of the 16th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.
The pianist's record achievements include also his debut solo record with Chopin's works released by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, as well the "Modern Soul" album, on which Marek Bracha accompanies the outstanding violinist Agata Szymczewska. The album was awarded the Supersonic prize by the prestigious revue Pizzicato.
