E-parking controls pilot
A car equipped with special cameras and sensors appeared on Poznan streets. It will test parking fees in the paid parking zone.
For the last few days on the streets of Lazarz and Wilda you can see a characteristic vehicle with a white box on the roof. It is a car performing test controls in SPP (Strefa Platnego Parkowania, en. Paid Parking Zones). It is equipped with special cameras and sensors, thanks to which registration numbers of vehicles parked on the streets within the zone are scanned. The collected data will be forwarded to ZDM (Zarzad Drog Miejskich, en. Municipal Road Administration) in order to verify the payments made for parking particular vehicles.
Test drives will last until mid-December and will allow to check the system, which could appear in the future on the streets covered by paid parking. Since 2020 such solution has been already used by Warsaw, and since this year also by Gdansk.
