Inauguration of the construction of new Bridgestone factories

The next important stage in the history of the Poznań factory.  The foundation stone for two new plants was laid on Monday. The Japanese producer will allocate over EUR 160 million for investments in the capital of Greater Poland. The goal is to increase the number of tires produced to 40,000 daily. Jacek Jaśkowiak, the Mayor of Poznań, took part in the ceremonial inauguration of the construction.

The tire manufacturer has started building new halls. The buildings will house rolling mill and vulcanization departments. Their usable area will be over 50 thousand. m2. The investment will also create new jobs. The company plans to increase employment by approximately 150 people.

- Bridgestone is one of the largest employers in Greater Poland. We are glad that the company wants to invest in our city and that it is still developing. Thanks to the expansion of production halls, Bridgestone will be able to contribute even more strongly to the positive economic situation of the region - said Jacek Jaśkowiak, president of Poznań.

The expansion of the Poznań factory is not only new buildings, but also new machinery and production equipment. As Roman Staszewski, director of Bridgestone Poznań pointed out, 67 new machines have already been installed or will be installed in the near future. It is about increasing the factory's capacity and increasing the production of tires to over 40,000. per day, while increasing the comfort of work of employees. The investment is planned to be completed in 2022.

- Apart from the increase in results, an important development goal for us is that our employees simply work well with us. It is thanks to their active attitude that we are able to achieve successes and break our own records - such as the production of 35,199 tires in one day - we achieved this result on January 4 this year - added director Staszewski.

Bridgestone has been operating in Poznań for over 20 years and employs approx. 2,000 employees. The expansion of the plant began in 2017, among others as part of it, the company opened an enlarged finished goods warehouse at ul. Bałtycka in Poznań. Currently, he has 65,000 m2 and can contain up to a million tires.
