Poznan has 550.7 thousand residents. Population density per 1 sq. km is 2114 people. For every 100 men, there are 115 women. People in the working age constitute 65% of the total population, of which nearly two thirds are in the mobile age (aged 18-44). People between 25 and 34 years of age (19%) comprise the relatively most numerous group of residents. Since 2007, the number of population in the pre-working and working age has been decreasing, while the number of residents in the post-working age has been increasing. There are about 1.8 thousand of foreigners living in the city. They come from over 100 countries, mainly European (70%), including EU citizens who comprise one third of all immigrants. The majority came from Ukraine, Germany, Belarus and Russia.
