Passport and visa requirements

Poland has been a member of the European Union since 2004 and a member of the Schengen area since 2007. Visitors seeking to enter and stay in Poland must hold valid passports and visas. The visa requirement is waived for citizens of EU member states, countries of the European Economic Area and countries explicitly exempted from the visa obligation.

In addition to travel documents and visas (if required), foreign nationals entering Poland are expected to hold funds, or produce proof of their ability to acquire funds, in an amount sufficient to cover the cost of entry, transit, stay and departure.
