Prof. Heinz-Helmut Lüger belongs to the best-known researchers of media linguistics. He is involved in multiple international projects (with the participation of Polish scientists) financed, inter alia, by the Foundation of Polish and German Cooperation - Test linguistics in Poland and Germany (2009), Text and Style (2010), and by the German and Polish Foundation for Science - The status and perspectives of transverse narrative in Poland and Germany (2016-2017). He cooperated on the EU project on media linguistics - Persuasion Styles in Europe (2011-2016). He is an author of 6 monographies which have been considered as leading works in the field (Sentence-like Phraseologisms, Routines and Rituals in the every-day communication), and have been published in several editions and are cited nearly in all works on phraseology, communication or media language.

He has authored over 200 articles on phraseology, phraseodidactics, contrastive media linguistics and text linguistics and media language. The authority of Prof. Lüger is confirmed by the fact that he has authored chapters in extensive thematic international encyclopaedic works, including Manual of Phraseology published by the Publishing House de Gruyter or Manual of Speech and Politics, and co-authored 17 collective volumes published under international cooperation.

He is a member of the editing committee and scientific board of over ten German, Czech and Polish magazines (Warszawa, Rzeszów, Gdańsk). He has cooperated with Polish Germanists and Romanists since 2009. Apart from lectures held at conference in Poland, the cooperation also involved the co-edition of 3 volumes in cooperation with Polish scientists, which were published by the Publishing House Peter Lang.
