Poznań attractive for foreigners

The data of the City Hall show that 2 350 foreigners live in Poznań. What is more, about 3.5 thousand students arrive to Poznań under the international exchange. Ukrainians are the most numerous group of foreigners in the capital of Wielkopolska. Many Belorussians and Germans are among the foreigners of Poznań. There are also students from, among others, China, Vietnam, Russia, Great Britain, Netherlands, Italy and France.
From the reasons why Poznań was chosen, more than 31% persons chose "Friendly city." 28.1% people arrived to Poznań to study and learn, and nearly 22% came to work.
The following are the advantages of Poznań indicated by the foreigners: low costs of living (31%), public transport/infrastructure (30%), friendly nature of the people (22%), and entertainment (22%). As many as 87% of the respondents answered that they would recommend visiting Poznań to their friends.
On the other hand, among disadvantages of Poznań the most people, 20%, mentioned intolerance and language barrier (19%). These were followed by: Infrastructure/public transport (17%), smog (14%), and traffic jams (11%).
As compared to other cities, Poznań appeared to be the best in five categories. Among others its modernity, aesthetics and tolerance were appreciated. Each category was assessed in the scale from 0 to 5 points. There was a total of 9 assessed categories. Average for Poznań amounted to 4.29. Łódź turned out to be the worst in comparison with an average of 3.73.
Disadvantages of other cities enumerated by the foreigners included: smog in Krakow (83% of the selected answers), intolerance in Warsaw (43%), boredom in Łódź (29%), intolerance in the Tri-City (30%), contamination in Wrocław (26%), smog in Katowice (49%), and boredom in Bydgoszcz (29%).
