Hague is a city with a surface area of nearly 100 square kilometres and 506.366 residents. The population is mixed - 52% has an ethnic-monority background. In Hague lives more than 100 nationalities. The Surinamese-Hindustani population is the largest immigrant community (10%).
There are 215.600 houses in the city; an income of its residents is on average € 12,250. One-third of the city space is green, there is about 400 hectares of forest, and what's important - there grow 1.358 trees with monument status. In 8 districts visitors can see more than 130 archaeological sites. In the city works 3000 companies, 131 international organisations, 10 hospitals, 64 community centres, 458 associations and foundations. Hague has a great transport network with its 1.100 kilometres of roads, 400 kilometres of bicycles paths and 22.000 meters of parking spots. The city is only 3 kilometres of wharf frontage at Scheveningen Harbour.
As being a well-known place, Hague counts more than 20 milion visitors each year. In area of education, there are 142 primary schools, 38 secondary schools and 6 international schools in Hague. Moreover, there are many universities and colleges such as: The Hague University of Applied Sciences, InHolland University of Applied Sciences, Leiden University/Campus The Hague, Erasmus University/International Institute of Social Studies, The Open University, Royal Academy of Art., Royal Conservatory, Hotel School The Hague, The Hague Academy of International Law, The Hague Academy of Local Governance. In Hague live, study and work about 30.000 students.
