Władysław Czarnecki "Greenery in the city is one of the essential elements of the cultural landscape"

Władysław Czarnecki (1895-1983)- architect,urban planningpractice andtheorist, a longtimeprofessor atPoznan University of Technology,Facultyof Architecture in Wroclaw andthePolishSchool of Architecture in Liverpool,author of thebasichandbook on the designcities andsettlements.Formost of his lifetiedwith the city,where in the years1925-1939 he was the city's chief-architect. In Poznan, he designed more than30architectural objects,most of themexisttill today.Under his leadership,the firstgeneral development plan was created, including the existingsystem ofwedge-ringof greenery,which is stilla point of referencefor contemporaryspatial development plansof the city.Since 2011,he is buriedwith his wife,Janina,whichworked with him on many projects, at the cemetery of distinguished residentsof Wielkopolska.
