About University

The Eugeniusz Piasecki University School of Physical Education in Poznań (AWF) is the oldest school of physical education in Poland and one of the oldest schools in Europe.

Presently, the University School of Physical Education has around 3,500 students, half of whom are full-time students. The University employs around 350 academic teachers, of whom 40 are professors and associate professors. The teaching staff is there to share their knowledge of physical education, sports, physiotherapy, tourism and recreation, across three faculties using modern teaching and sports facilities such as indoor swimming pool, gym, tennis courts, fitness club, multifunctional hall for sports games and stadium with artificial surface are open to students and athletes as well as the University Sports Association (AZS) with several sports sections. The University is also a respected research institution, carrying out research on the natural and humanistic foundations of physical culture and rehabilitation.
