From the Mayor

Dear young Europeans!

The fact that Poznan has been selected as the host city of the 32nd Taizé European Youth Meeting makes the city's authorities and its inhabitants both proud and delighted. For a few days, Poznan, the birthplace of the Polish State and Christianity, will become a centre of dialogue for thousands of young people from across Europe. Through their openness, mutual understanding, respect and prayer, young Europeans will seek ways that will lead them towards unity, love and peace. This pursuit of a sense of community and unity among people from so many various generations and Christian traditions is especially important in a united Europe rooted in the principle of solidarity.
I am deeply convinced that the cordiality and kindness of Poznan inhabitants, as well as our city's unique atmosphere will contribute to creating mutual understanding and trust, as well as to making new friends.
I trust that your stay in Poznan will forever remain a pleasant memory in the hearts of the participants, and that the noble ideals of love, peace, openness and intercultural dialogue, which always fill the Taizé European Youth Meetings, will command the thoughts and actions of us all.

I would like to invite you to Poznan, a place where many roads of trust will meet in December.
