Dr Sebastian Grabowski

Graduate of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications at the Koszalin University of Technology, the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw and the Warsaw School of Social Sciences and Humanities, PhD at the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Bibliology at the University of Warsaw. In his research work he deals with the topics of Open Information Ecosystems, Open Data and Interactions between users of telecommunication networks and the Internet.

  • President of the ArchitectsPL Foundation dealing with the popularisation of the idea of openness and new technologies in Polish cities, where, inter alia, in cooperation with the local governments of Poland and Lithuania in 2019, the Foundation set a Guinness World Record. ArchitectsPL is one of the Polish pioneers dealing with Open Data and has so far successfully developed open data platforms in Kołobrzeg, Gdańsk and Warsaw,

  • In 2021, he received a special distinction from the editors of MIT Sloan Management Review Poland and ICAN Institute in the category Responsible Technology - Champion of Innovative Transformation for the project - Transformation of the city of Bolesławiec into a Smart City - implementation of an ecosystem of smart solutions to improve the management of urban infrastructure",
  • Winner of the "List of 100 in 2021" awarded by the Broad Alliance for Digital Skills in Poland. "List of 100" is a list of 100 people who in a special way, with their activity, contributed to the development of digital skills in Poland in 2021,
  • Founder of the VBlog City City dedicated to the topic of Polish self-government.

Professionally, he has been involved in the ICT industry for 20 years, where he has held a number of management positions, including heading Orange Polska's Research and Development Centre and managing the Internet of Things, Smart City and M2M business in Orange's B2B market. He is currently working in an international environment as Head of IoT/Smart City/Industry/Egde Enterprise Architecture Practises at Orange Business Services in Paris.
