The culture train connects Poznan, Berlin and Warsaw

- This event is important to promote Poznań. If we consider Polish cities, the majority of tourists come to our city from Warsaw, and among the cities abroad, it is Berlin - says Mariusz Wiśniewski, Deputy Mayor of Poznań - This project is important not only from the perspective of tourism, but also from the perspective of using sustainable transport which is essential for us in Poznań.
The Berlin-Poznań-Warsaw EC journey takes about 5 hours. Tickets can be booked with Deutsche Bahn or PKP Intercity.
Institutions in Poznań played a crucial role creating an artistic program. On Tuesday and Wednesday, 11th and 12th February, Grzegorz Wierus, the orchestra leader from Grand Theatre in Poznań will run the workshops "Here, everyone has a voice". On Thursday and Friday (13th and 14th February) the passengers can spend a night with stars from Musical Theatre and experience "Magic of the Musical". On Saturday and Sunday (15th and 16th February) representatives of the Poznań Croissant Museum will tell about the history of this delicacy, Ania Babrakowska and Emil Nowak from Culture Centre in Jeżyce will play a special concert.
- Every element of the concert is an effect of cooperation, that I am thankful for to many institutions - says Ewa Stróżczyńska-Wille, curator of culture program "Kulturzug" - Our motto is "Moving cities". Poznań, Berlin and Warsaw move us, they are dynamic, vibrant and changing.
The strength of the cities is a network of European connections and citizens' involvement is an important driving force of the main motto of the European Union: "United in diversity". Kulturzug, which will course from Berlin through Poznań to Warsaw places itself in this context. Artistic programs realised during the journey are supposed to unite not only people of culture and art, but also create a unique space for dialogue and exchange of ideas.
- We want to use trains and create a connection between Berlin, Poznań and Warsaw. - says Moritz van Dülmen, managing director of Kulturprojekte Berlin. - Naturally, the project, which combines German and Polish cities, PKP and Deutsche Bahn, faces many challenges. Koordination required lot of work, but we can officially begin a new stage. Now, only for a week, but we hope that project will stay with us longer.
