The Intimate Prevention Point has been in place in Poznan since October 2018 and was the first of its kind in Poland. It is available to the residents of Poznan - including the uninsured - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, in order to use its services between 10-8 p.m., one must first make an appointment by calling 61 647 77 25. The service is free of charge. As of January 2021, the location of the Intimate Prevention Point has changed. Patients are admitted in the premises of Poznan Centre for Specialist Medical Services at Solidarności Avenue.

The Intimate Prevention Point in Poznan offers consultations and medical advice on diseases, intimate hygiene and contraception - both natural and pharmacological. It also provides emergency medical assistance in case of injuries and inflammations of reproductive organs. This place offers access to ultrasound examinations, mammography, referrals to diagnostic tests for gynecological diseases. Consultation and ultrasound and PSA testing for prevention and early detection of prostate cancer are also provided.
An outpatient clinic and a gynecological office adapted for people with disabilities are still a drop in the ocean of needs. Women and men with special needs (this includes all types of disabilities - deaf, blind, mobility impaired, and others) often avoid preventive care because they cannot cope in an unadapted environment. You need a ramp, an elevator, a bathroom with facilities for people with disabilities. Unfortunately, clinics often do not have the capacity to meet these conditions.

The Intimate Prevention Point in POSUM in Poznań meets the accessibility requirements. In front of the building there are several parking spaces for people with disabilities. A ramp with handrails on both sides, placed at two heights, leads to the main door. The door opens automatically, the route leading to the elevator has no traffic obstructions. The point is on the second floor. The elevator is equipped with voice announcements, convex numbers indicating floors and Braille signage. The corridor on the second floor also ensures efficient communication - barrier-free, there are signs directing to the Intimate Prevention Point. The doors are wide enough and the signs on the doors are clear. In the reception/registration area some countertops have been lowered, which enables good contact with the registrar. During telephone conversations with persons reporting for examination, the registrar, if it does not result from the conversation, asks whether the caller is a person with special needs. This allows her to refer the patient to an accessible office or arrange for a sign language interpreter. The clinic also plans to have an on-call online interpreter. In one of the surgeries, the examination chair is automatically lowered and has support rails, which enables examination of a person with movement disabilities. In the next office, there is a height-adjustable couch. The offices have maneuvering space for wheelchairs. The toilet is accessible, both the toilet and bidet have support for people with disabilities. The sink is accessible by wheelchair. Contact can be made by phone, email or through registration forms. The website of the Intimate Prevention Point is clear with accessibility features based on WCAG 2.0 standards.
To make an appointment, you need to register by calling 61 647 77 25 or using the registration form available on the POSUM website.

Annually, the City of Poznan contributes PLN 1,120,000.00 to the project.
