Days of Czech Culture in Poznan
At the Raczyński Library, cultural attractions awaited the inhabitants and residents of Poznań in the following days. The Branch of Art hosted a concert entitled "Łużyckim Traktem" by Maciej and Mateusz Rychła, where, to the sounds of romantic guitar, mandola and flute, listeners were transported into the world of our western neighbours - the Lusatians - the smallest Slavic nation without a state.
There was also an exhibition entitled "Architecture in the service of the First Republic. Brno and the South Moravian Region" and its opening was marked by a lecture by the exhibition's curator, Petr Svoboda, head of the method centre of the National Heritage Institute in the Czech Republic.
The Czech pianist of the younger generation and winner of awards at piano competitions, Jakub Sládek, came to Poznań especially for the Days of Czech Culture. The audience could hear the concert in the Branch of Art of the Raczyński Library.
Throughout October, the exhibition "Bohemian illustrations from the collection of the Havlíčkův Brod Gallery of Fine Arts" will be on display - a gallery collecting works by Czech illustration artists working from the 1920s to the beginning of the 21st century.
Moreover, guests from Brno visited Poznań primary schools and conducted Polish-Czech reading workshops in them.
The Days of Czech Cultural are held under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Poland, Mr. Břetislav Daňčák and the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Poznań. They are co-organised by the City of Poznań together with the Raczyński Library and our partner city Brno and Brno's Jiri Mahen Library.
