The City of Poznan at the 23rd Győr Book Fair

Every year, our twin city Győr attracts literature lovers in Hungary. At the 23rd edition of the Book Fair at the National Theatre in Győr in November, the visitors could meet Hungarian writers and stock up on favourite publishing items.

Publications from Poznań on the Book Fairs in Gyor

It is an annual tradition for the Book Fair to host Győr's twin cities and foreign partners, who present publications about their cities and their local literature. At the City of Poznan's stand, visitors could learn publications by Wydawnictwo Miejskie Posnania (Posnania Municipal Publishing Company) and Media Rodzina Publishing Company, as well as materials promoting our city. We were neighbours with representatives from Csíkszereda from Romania, Dunajská Streda from Slovakia, Erfurt and Sindelfingen from Germany and Wuhan from China.

Poznan presented itself not only to visitors to the Book Fair. Within the walls of the Library in Győr in the museum room, we had a lecture by Katarzyna Kamińska, Director of the Raczynski Library in Poznan entitled "The Raczynski Library in Poznan. 195 years of history and progress". It was also a great opportunity to exchange experiences between the libraries of the two cities.

Poznan accents resounded also at the 18th Polish Music Festival in Győr organised by the Music School named after F. Liszt in Győr and the Polish Nationality Self-Government in Győr. Poznan was represented by students of the Music School Complex in Poznan. Both artists became winners of the festival! We would like to congratulate Olga Polaszek and Weronika Kucharska and their accompanying teacher Aleksander Kistowski.

The delegation of the City of Poznan also met with authorities and representatives of the City of Gyor, including the city's new mayor and his deputy. We also had the opportunity to exchange experiences with city institutions, including the representatives of the Győr Library and the Győr National Theatre and the organisers of the Book Fair.
