9th Annual ABSL Conference in Poznań

After 4 years, the prestigious ABSL Conference, dedicated to the modern services sector, has returned to Poznań. Poznań - the Host City of the ABSL Conference was able to present its investment potential to the representatives of companies from the sector. During the two-day conference, attended by over 1200 people, we discussed further development of the modern services sector in Poland.

The participants gathered in the Earth Hall of the Poznań International Fair were greeted by Mayor Jacek Jaśkowiak and the President of ABSL Piotr Dziwok - There are many reasons why Poznań is attractive for investors - emphasized Jacek Jaśkowiak, the Mayor of Poznań, when welcoming the guests attending the conference. - It's location is excellent, it has a high economic potential and good infrastructure. It offers a wide range of office space and the environment is conducive to doing business. However, no company can be run without qualified employees - and there is no shortage of those in Poznań.

A special guest of the ABSL Conference in Poznań was Simon Sinek, a motivational speaker known from the TED platform and the author of the best-selling books "Start with Why", "Leaders Eat Last". During his speech, he gave advice on how a leader of every team should behave. Simon Sinek also met with the Mayor of Poznań, Jacek Jaskowiak.

Speeches and discussion panels during the ABSL Conference in Poznań were divided into three thematic paths. The first, "People", concerned team management, employee recruitment, cultural diversity in corporations. The second path - "Technology" - covered topics related to technological solutions that could be applied in the modern services sector. The "Business and Markets" path was devoted to the investment potential of individual markets, including Poland and Poznań. As part of this thematic path, a discussion panel on the ways cities can attract investors was held with the participation of the Deputy Mayor of Poznań, Mariusz Wiśniewski, representatives of Warsaw, Łódź and Cushman & Wakefield.

On the first day, Jennifer M. Johnson, President of Franklin Templeton, a company from the financial sector employing over 800 people in Poznań, has also given an interesting speech. Franklin Templeton has recently invested in one of the office buildings of the Nowy Rynek complex (Skanska), thus sealing its success in Poznań. At the same time, the plans of further development in the capital of Wielkopolska were announced - the office in Poznań, which is already the largest seat of Franklin Templeton in Europe, is to employ over 1200 people.

During the ABSL Conference, Poznań hosted the most important representatives of the business world, the modern business services industry, and the real estate market. Representatives of Accenture Operations, JP Morgan, State Street, Whirlpool, Saint-Gobain and American Express have all made their appearances in Poznań.

- The return to Poznań and selecting this city as the host of our conference was not accidental - says Marcelina Godlewska, a member of the ABSL board. - For years, the capital of Wielkopolska has been famous for its openness to business and innovation, and local authorities have created a great atmosphere for investors. This is evidenced by the long list of international corporations with offices located here, including IKEA, Jeronimo Martins, McKinsey & Company, ROCKWOOL, MARS Global Services, MAN Accounting Center, and the GSK IT Center. Poznań is attractive for business also due to its fast-growing office space market - the capital of Wielkopolska is one of the leading Polish cities in this category.

The modern business services sector, which is one of the priority sectors of the City of Poznań, employs specialists with foreign language skills, employees with financial and accounting education, IT specialists or specialists in the field of human resources management. In Poznań, over 16,000 people already work in this sector.
