The Poznań University of Economics and the City of Poznań have the pleasure to invite you to an open lecture by Prof.Günter Müller of the University of Freiburg, a renowned specialist in the field of security and privacy in distributed systems, e-commerce, e-business and IT in the energy sector.A lecture entitled"Resilience - a Paradigm for Service oriented IT?" will be held on 19 June at 5:00 p.m. in room 111A at the Poznań University of Economics).

Prof.Günter Müller is a professor of the University of Freiburg, at the Faculty of Informatics and the Faculty of Economics.He received his PhD degree at the University of Duisburg, and qualified as a university professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration.

In 2011, he received a Doctor Honoris Causa title awarded by the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, for his pioneering achievements in the field of computer science, in particular in the area of databases, the Internet and security of IT systems, and for his achievements in making IT security a recognised academic discipline in Germany and world-wide.  Prof.Müller's research interests include in particular security and privacy in distributed systems, e-commerce, cyber economy and IT in power industry.Prof.Müller has been awarded numerous prizes and distinctions such as:

- "Ehrenmedaille", awarded by the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration

- "Ehrenkreuz 1. Klasse", awarded by the President of Austria, for his contribution to the development of the Internet

- Doctor Honoris Causa title awarded by the Technical University of Darmstadt

- Friend of Faculty, awarded by the University of Zagreb-Varazdin

Since 1990, Prof.Müller has been the Director of the Institute for Computer Science and Society (the University of Freiburg, Germany).He is also a co-initiator of the DFG Priority Programme 1496 "Reliably Secure Software Systems" for the years 2010-2016, and in the years 1999-2006, he was the co-ordinator of the DFG Priority Programme 1079 "Security in Information and Communication Technology".

Prof.Müller was a member of the Advisory Board for Security of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology in the years 1995-1997. In 1985, he was the Director of IBM European Network Research Center, and in 1987 - the Director of IBM Europe.

Moreover, Prof.Müller did research as a visiting scientist and lectured at leading universities, among others:NTT Yokosuka Research Center, Japan (1992), HarvardUniversity, JohnF.KennedySchool (1995), International Computer Science Institute (ICSI), California, USA (1998).
